Child Transport in Cluj-Napoca, With an Approved Car Seat on Every Ride

When you travel with a child, the car matters more than the route. At Personal Driver Cluj we carry children of every age, from newborns to schoolchildren, each in the restraint system that suits them: an infant carrier for babies, a rotating ISOFIX seat for toddlers and a booster for older children. The equipment comes with us, fitted and checked before we reach you, and you pay nothing extra for it.

This is not an improvised service. The seats we use were bought specifically for rides with children, not moved in a hurry from one car to another. We fit them ourselves, on the car ISOFIX anchors, and we check the installation before every departure.

The equipment we use

A high quality rotating ISOFIX car seat. It locks rigidly into the car ISOFIX anchor points, with no belt routed behind the seat and none of the play you get with a classic installation. The seat swivels towards the door, so the child gets in and out from the side, without you leaning into the cabin and straining your back. For toddlers we can keep it rear facing, which is the safest position at that age.

An infant carrier on a fixed ISOFIX base, rotating, with Easy Access. The base stays in the car and the carrier clicks onto it. It swivels towards the door so you can settle the baby comfortably, and at the destination you release it with a single button and take it straight indoors with the baby still inside. You do not have to lift the baby out, wake them or move them from one place to another. For a newborn who fell asleep on the way, that is the difference between arriving home calmly and starting all over again.

A backless booster seat for older children. It is for those who have outgrown the harnessed seat but are not yet tall enough for the car belt to sit correctly on them. The booster raises the child until the belt crosses the shoulder and the hips rather than the neck and the abdomen, which is exactly where a badly positioned belt does harm instead of protecting.

What Romanian law requires

Any child under 135 cm must travel in an approved restraint system suited to their weight and height, and children under 12 or under 150 cm are not allowed in the front seat. We follow the rule on every ride, without exceptions and without negotiation. Tell us the child age and weight when booking and we prepare exactly the right system, and if several children are travelling we prepare one for each.

The most frequent requests are airport transfers with a small child, the trip to a medical appointment or to relatives in another town, the journey home from the maternity hospital, and the periods when a family is left without a car. We also do long distance rides, within Romania and abroad, where a good seat matters even more because the hours spent in it add up.

We drive differently when children are on board. No sharp acceleration, no hard braking, reduced speed over uneven surfaces and extra stops if the journey is long and the child needs a break. The drivers who take these rides are the same ones who handle maternity transport, so they have the practice, not just the equipment.

We fit the seat before we reach you, so no time is lost at pick-up.

  2. 2 We pick the right system from our own equipment: an infant carrier for babies, a rotating ISOFIX seat for toddlers or a booster for older children.
  3. 3 We fit the seat on the ISOFIX anchors and check the installation before setting off towards you.
  4. 4 You travel, and at the end you pay the normal fare. The child equipment costs nothing extra.

What kind of child car seats do you use?

The ISOFIX base stays in the car and the carrier clicks onto it. It swivels towards the door so you can settle the baby comfortably without leaning into the cabin. At the destination you release it with a single button and take it straight indoors with the baby inside, without waking them.
Can you pick up or drop off a sleeping baby without waking them?
Yes, that's exactly what the Easy Access carrier is for: it detaches from the base with a single button, and you carry it straight away, baby and all, without lifting or moving them. For sleep interrupted mid-trip, that makes all the difference.
From what age to what age do you carry children?
From newborns, in an infant carrier, up to schoolchildren who still need a booster. In practice we cover the whole range up to 135 cm, the height above which the law allows an ordinary seat belt.
Can I use my own seat?
Yes, if you prefer the seat your child is used to. Tell us when booking and we will fit it at pick-up, or leave you time to fit it yourself. We check the installation together before setting off.
Do you transport children on long trips, outside Cluj as well?
Yes. For long rides, within the country or abroad, a good seat matters even more, because the hours spent in it add up. We drive just as carefully, with extra stops if the road is long and the child needs a break.
