How a ride works

You travel in your own car, with everything you already know about it. We take care of the driving.

  1. 1 Tell us what car you have, what route it takes and when. For long trips, details about the gearbox or any quirks of the car help too.
  2. 2 We check the paperwork together: the third-party policy must cover any driver who drives with your consent.
  3. 3 The driver comes to you, takes the wheel and drives for the whole journey. You are a passenger in your own car.
  4. 4 At the destination we hand the car back. You pay at the end: cash, card or bank transfer.

Frequently asked questions

Why would I need a driver for my own car?
The most common reasons: a long journey you do not want to make while tired, a business trip where you would rather work on the way, an evening after which you cannot drive, or a temporary medical problem. In every case you travel in your own car, with the comfort you know.
What is the Drive to Home service?
It is the option for situations where you have your car with you but cannot drive: after an event, a business dinner, or simply when you are too tired. We come to you, drive your car and drop you home, with the car safely parked.
Does my insurance cover another driver?
In most cases, yes: Romanian third-party policies cover any driver who drives with the owner’s consent. For comprehensive cover, check your policy, because some have clauses limiting who may drive. We will tell you exactly what to check before setting off.
Do you drive abroad as well?
Yes. We regularly drive to Hungary, Austria, Germany and Italy in the client’s car. For journeys abroad we ask for at least 24 hours’ notice, so we can prepare the necessary documents.
How is the price calculated?
The service with your own car is charged by the hour, in Romanian lei, not per kilometre. The base is 150 RON for the first hour, then 50 RON for each following hour. On rides that go past 8 hours, the hours beyond that point are charged at 65 RON per hour, up to 12 hours. Anything beyond 12 hours is charged at 80 RON per hour. We give you the exact amount before departure.
Does the driver return on their own?
It depends on the route. If the driver returns with the car to the location in Cluj, only the actual time of the ride is charged. If we drop you off somewhere outside Cluj and the driver has to make their own way back, the time needed for that return is added to the fare. We tell you the final amount before departure, so there are no surprises.
